Hmm ... I was waiting for the "priceless" line, but I guess this isn't a Mastercard commercial :)
ReplyDeleteDays till I get to see my Honey: about 84 (too many)
Days till my next Cheekfeast: 77 (also too many)
From Tim Schwamb:
ReplyDeleteOK, a few things: First and foremost, WHO would want coffee made from GREEN BEANS??? Second, do I sense a feeling of inequality between you and the flyboys? Don't worry, it's as bad or worse in the AF. Finally, are you hot-bunking patients on the ward? (32 > 28) ....
From Dan Steigelman:
ReplyDelete# of people here with OCD: 1
From Rupa Dainer:
ReplyDeleteOh Autumn :(
TIM: We're talking about the green coffee beans which ultimately make the traditional brown coffee beans we all know, love, and depend on for a caffeine surge in the mornings! About the inequality .... boy, are you astute. Where did you ever surmise that I'm a little jealous of their work-rest cycles? (Although they DO get their butts kicked when they are on shift, that's for sure!) And yes, we have cots on the ward quite regularly now to accommodate the >100% capacity ...
ReplyDeleteDAN: C'mon, there are plenty of OCD people in medicine at our hospital! And besides .... technically I have OCPD, not OCD. :)
RUPA: you soon will understand and sympathize with the despair of leaving your children, as well as the professional exhilaration of deployment in the world's most active combat theater.

ReplyDeleteall the medevac crew members have ocd as well. so after flying the max hours we are busy packing, re packing and re stocking.
but yes, the required sleep is nice as is the personal rooms. we love you for what you do next door. the dedication makes our jobs worth it.
love the numbers.
dont forget, subway, burger king, straw hat, orange julious and the baskin robbins in the chow hall, the two salons and massage parlor.
Angie - you guys DO have OCD! I'm not sure if the crew chiefs or the flight medics have it worse! And, no, I haven't forgotten about the fast food and salons on BAF .... the problem is that I get made fun of totally when I mention them .... so thanks for that .... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou guys have fast food and salons on BAF? Huh??
ReplyDeleteDairy Queen, massage parlors, coffee shops, Pizza hut, green grass, a minefield, two rooftop gazebos (of sorts), and indoor plumbing ... what more could I ask for???? :)
